About Dana Sheehan, Owner
I work full-time for Shady Side Academy as their Manager of Web Communucations, a job I recently started. I previously served as the Webmaster for the Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) for nearly nine years. I love learning about online communications and I’m fascinated by the current movement of social media and how it is changing the way we connect.
I also created publications for DHS and wrote e-vice, a monthly column for DHS News. I spent 4 years managing the Allegheny County Music Festival Fund, a program that provides items and services for children served by DHS, and created Project Prom in 2003, which provides prom attire to high school students served by DHS.
I earned a bachelors degree in Communications Media from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I have taught personal web design and social networking for Fox Chapel Area Adult Education and served as a member of the Positioning Public Child Welfare Initiative subcommittee on Communications, consulting on web sites, Intranets, new media and other electronic communications. I speak to groups and college classes about using web-based communications inlcude web sites and social media. I have spoken to students in a masters level communcations course at the University of Pittsburgh and served on a panel for Accessible Websites at TechNow 2008, sponsored by the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management at Robert Morris University.
I am a married mother of two adorable (if I do say so myself) children.

My kids - see, I told you they were adorable!
In my increasingly rare free time I enjoy reading, beading and watching TV. My favorite web sites are www.TelevisionWithoutPity.com, www.PaperbackSwap.com, and www.Facebook.com.
